New York - Repliforce Island

Repliforce Island is simply that, an artificial area that has grown so much its now its own seperate Island of New York City. Mazes of rampways, bridges, and shafts give access to the Island, as hovercars, hoverboats, and barges constantly move from New York City's main area to Repliforce Island. In the center of the island is the sprawling dome of Repliforce Headquarters, surrounding by small, futuristic Reploid housing developments and such. Its like a mininature city within a City, situated around RHQ.

The scene:

The beach that once overlooked Repliforce Island has only been slightly transformed, having one small platform added for speakers to address those gathered. Floating out where Repliforce Island once was, is a single obelisk atop of a floating anchored platform, with the names of who've fallen.

Norman Cassidy strolls in quietly, dressed up in a tuxedo, his hair color and style remaining his standard. Norm sighs quietly, frowning slightly as he pads through the crowds, moving almost unnoticed from place to place. His eyes remain calm and watchful, almost inhumanly so... But he is most assuredly not the same man as he normally is in the tuxedo. He is not Pierce Armar, not now at least.

Ballade has dressed his finest for this occasion. How he learned of the memorial and the time of the service isn't clear, but he is here. Impeccibly dressed in his suit, each line is perfect. Tucked under one arm his his helmet, and in his right he carries a flat box - about three feet square and about six inches thick. He moves slowly towards the front of the crowd, his expression as calm as always.

Moonlight Kitsune walks along, wearing her normal kimono outfit. Her multiple tails trail behind her a bit, her ears perked up a bit on her head, as she still stays alert to her surroundings. But then, Moonlight is a security reploid, so she has her reasons to be.

Quell Quetzalcoatlus skims in, armor freshly polished. Choosing a position towards the outskirts of the assembly, she fans her wings to hover to a halt, and drops lightly to the ground. She moves through the group, nodding to those more familiar to her, and murmuring words of condolence to those still grieving. Grimly, she weaves closer to the front, where she clasps her hands in front of her at an at ease stance.

Shining Firefly arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Shining Firefly has arrived.

Proteus Fox is already present and in full dress uniform. He stands staring out at the Obelisk, quitely saying his goodbyes to those who died in that attack.

Stormbringer Selkie arrives from the New York - Harbor.

Stormbringer Selkie has arrived.

Fusion Phoenix arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Fusion Phoenix has arrived.

Slash Beast stands at the front of the assembly, off to one side. He is in full dress uniform, which for him consists simply of his medals attached to his chest. He stands straight and stock still, ignoring those gathered behind him and silently paying his respects to the memorial/graveyard out across the water.

Bowie is somewhere in the back, dressed in his usual attire, which has been freshly cleaned and pressed. If anyone actually notices things like that. He's not really mingling, but he's keeping an eye out for anyone he may know.

Selene Chantrell arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Selene Chantrell has arrived.

Strike Mongoose arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Strike Mongoose has arrived.

Gale Sorcerer arrives looking around the place. The UNr is dressed in his usual civilian suit, but today he's also wearing shades. He quietly moves around the people, trying to find a nice place to watch, from where he cannot be bothered by all the people around. He's just here to watch today.

Wave Lotus arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Wave Lotus has arrived.

Tomahawk Man arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Tomahawk Man has arrived.

Plasma Badger arrives from the New York - Harbor.

Plasma Badger has arrived.

Kneeling on one leg upon the very edge of the beach, the water rolling right up and sometimes past him, the Colonel's head is bowed. He doesn't move, doesn't do anything, but it's quite evident from the grave expression on his face, that the Repliforce Executive Officer feels every single loss of life under his command. Such is the way of being command however, and that feeling, the feeling of loss and yet determination, is what drives the Colonel right now.

Fusion Phoenix enters the area late, but his arival is siginfant. He was the survivor most grevously wounded, and he was the last to be fully repaired. His comming shows that Repliforce is rebuilding, that they will not be defeated by this blow.

Ballade slowly pushes his way through the crowd, although not with excissive force or rudeness. As he reaches the boundry of the crowd, he stops a few people from the very front, setting down the package in his hands, still holding his helmet under his arm. Running his free hand through his hair, he straightens his suit before standing at an easy attention. He does nothing more for the moment... simply waiting and watching.

Strike Mongoose walks slowly into the memorial area, dressed in more or less his full uniform. He gives a salute to all of the other Repliforce officers as the rest of the party who are arriving at the same time that he is files into the area. He touches one hand to his forehead as he looks out on the shattered remains of the island, and lets out a soft sigh as he again sees the destruction that has been let toose.

Selene Chantrell arrives on the heels of her CO, coming from his 'revival' and padding in silently and respectfully just behind and to his left, the position speaking highly of her respect for her commanding officer and the seriousness of the occasion.

Phoebus arrives from the New York - Manhattan Island.

Phoebus has arrived.

Norman Cassidy stops several hundred feet from Colonel, the obelisk, and various other important things. He looks around slowly, before bowing his head in silence. There is nothing for him to do, but pay his respects... And his dues.

Plasma Badger arrives very quietly, lagging a little bit behind Fusion. He looks rather winded, but the reason for looking winded involves the return of Fusion Phoenix to the land of the walking. He says nothing for the time being, and looks around the area quietly to see what's going on.

Wave Lotus follows behind her sister, in full armor uniform. She didn't have anytime to change, what with her clothes having gone down with the island. She looks around at the crowd and smiles weakly. Memorials aren't her thing.

Gale Sorcerer finally finds a place in a corner to stand, and he stays there with his arms crossed, moving his shades a bit down. His first glare is directed to the horizon, towards the place Repliforce Island was, then to focus his attention on the obelisk. It probably would be good to pay some respects here.

Freeze Man arrives from the New York - Harbor.

Freeze Man has arrived.

The water rushes up this time past his knee, the dimmed optics of the Colonel come back to full intensity as he stands from the sudden feel of the cold water. Turning slowly, the Colonel's in the same uniform he always is in. There is no other for him. His eyes drift from person to person, as he takes note of those here, before stepping back toward the group and platform. Today, he is semi-informal, no salutes, this is a memorial service, not a planning session.

Moonlight Kitsune frowns a bit, and swishes her tails a bit, as she looks over the others, as they enter the area, hoping that today will be a peaceful day. Moonlight can only hope at this point.

Cappella arrives from the New York - Manhattan Island.

Cappella has arrived.

Ballade meets Colonel's gaze calmly, perhaps overlooked behind the others, perhaps let stand in the interest of peace. Ballade doesn't care. He has come here to pay his respects to those who fought him and his bretheren. Because they served their duty.

Stormbringer Selkie enters silently from the southeast, in her dress-down grays. A black ribbon's been tied about her right upper arm, and she seems oddly subdued--pausing at the edge of the crowd and merely standing there, with none of her normal fidgeting. A paper-wrapped package is under one arm, one that--given the care with which she bears it--has some especial import to her.

With great restraint, Slash Beast keeps himself from saluting Colonel even now. Despite the gravity and purpose of this service, it is difficult for his mind to clear itself of military-centered thoughts. He instead keeps them squarely on the fallen soldiers; not what their loss means as Repliforcers, but what their loss means as reploids. Anthem... He looks up, diverting his attention from the memorial to Colonel, folding his hands behind his back.

Phoebus salutes back to Colonel. He was here all along, honest. He seems rather calm, his brow furrowed in thought. His squad is behind, as always, is with him, around him, and even Fire Fox has a solemn face.

Rigger suffers through the chill still in the air silently as she stands amidst the crowd of those gathered to pay their respects. She could deal with being cold to give proper respect to those fallen. As such, she stands solemnly in her most appropriate attire, only wishing in the back of her head that the blue business suit were actually black.

Proteus Fox stands in quiet reverence, his eyes flicking between the obelisk and Colonel. Hands behind his back, the gold Fox waits for the services to begin.

Norman Cassidy stares out at the water, fist shaking slowly, before unclenching. There are more constructive ways of fighting things like this, such as going out in his... 'liberated'... cybernetic augmentation suit. Norm frowns, not this time. There is only one way to make right what he screwed up... Only one thing in his mind.

As the expectant crowd's gaze turns towards the rising Colonel, so does Quell's. The avian keeps her position to the front, and it's probably for the best, given her lack of love for those responsible for the island sinking -- even if they weren't at the actual attack. Beak forward, that's it...

Fusion Phoenix bows his head as he thinks of all that was lost. The people. The base. The sense of security, that this base would never fall. Then he moves on to the material things. . o O (My room. My colection of historical artifacts. Fashionable's closet...) O o . He cracks a brief smile at that last thought, before returning his gaze to Repliforce's XO.

Tomahawk Man watches and listens. This is somthing he wants to remember, for good or ill.

Selene Chantrell says nothing, unblinking as she watches on... as perhaps the youngest of those gathered, she had little contact with those lost... but her inner nature leaves her feeling pained at the thought of the lives lost... the people whose courage and morale took a hit because of the attack...

Plasma Badger's expression is completely unreadable.... He' over being upset over it. He's had a chance to vent his ire and frustration already leaving behind the stoicism that has seen him through other troubles of lesser magnitude than this one. He remains back towards the back of the crowd for the time being, over with Fusion and Selene and the rest. There is nothing for him to say. He simply listens.

Viktor Frieze strolls along the beach, munching on a donut that probably came from the large box under his arm. "Mmm, these are really good! I need to stop at that bakery more often!" He then looks up along the beach, and sees a whole mess of people gathered up ahead. oO(What're all these people doing here?)Oo He decides to go find out, and heads for the gathering.

Bowie watches the proceedings quietly, his hat's brim pulled low. He's been at too many of these functions lately, and it's starting to wear on him. Still, he remains, because it is important to remember and to mourn.

Gale Sorcerer still stands looking towards the obelisk, to focus his attention towards the Colonel after a few minutes. The place's probably full of Repliforcers, and maybe there's someone he knows around, but today isn't the best day for a talk. Today the best would probably be to leave them alone.

Moonlight Kitsune watches, quietly, her mind still thinking about her duty to protect others, her tails swishing slowly.

Strike Mongoose looks slowly about the area, his eyes narrowing slightly as he takes in the presence of those who are not of Repliforce - some of who might be Masters, others regular civilians. Strike was always rather distrustful, but for the most part unless trouble started here, he wasn't going to do anything. He simply remains at attention next to the other 'forcers he's spent almost the past week fighting beside, his eyes on the Colonel and the memorial. He looks over at Selene and Plasma for a moment, and slowly shakes his head.

Punk arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Punk has arrived.

Colonel steps up onto the platform finally, walking toward the podium and microphone. Taking a deep breathe, not out of need, but simple expression of emotion, the Colonel looks across the crowd yet again, before beginning. "There are no real words to expression the emotion that goes through some of our heads, the sheer loss that we have felt, and the sheer determination that has been instilled in us. Today, we remember those who've fallen, those who fought for the beliefs they so cherished, those who gave their all to defend freedom."

Stormbringer Selkie moves one hand to rest on the package under her arm, watching Colonel unblinkingly.

Manuvering silently through the crowd a figure dressed interiorly in red gazes from behind the brim of her floppy fedora. A cold yet thin smirk tugs on the thief's lips as she watches quietly. Not bothering to stay in one stop the thief works her way through the crowd. One minute she is there the next moment she has disappeared back into the vastness of others.

Ballade listens calmly, unblinkingly as Colonel speaks. He does not agree with the need to defend freedom - freedom is wasted in the hands of many. But these people believed in that freedom, and served their duty to it. It is the service he has come to recognize, and not the goals. That he was the engineer of some of that loss, that his thumb was the one that pressed one of the final buttons doesn't matter.

Viktor is very confused by all the unhappy people, and walks over to... (randomly picks from the gathering) ...Wave Lotus! Congratulations, you get to talk to Vickie. "Excuse me, miss, but what's with all these people here?" He smiles pleasently at the bioroid, looking to be as friendly as possible.

Void Starfish arrives from the New York - Harbor.

Void Starfish has arrived.

Fusion Phoenix stands with his little group near the back of the crowd, listening to Colonel speak, quietly remembering all that was lost.

Plasma Badger's for remains silent for the time being, watching the memorial service as it continues. He shifts his weight from one foot to the other quietly and does as one with twice as many ears as they have mouths ought to do... Listen.

Phoebus listens, yes. He doesn't speak. It's a trait he believes in, not interrupting people while they're speaking. However, he wonders if this'll be handled like the Memorial after the first Siege. Will others speak? He frowns slightly. He wishes he could just move on, really. But still... And he ignores Viktor too because he expects the civilian (cough) will quiet down once he figures things out.

Gale Sorcerer listens quietly from his corner as Colonel speaks, thinking about each word he hears. But suddenly something makes him feel uncomfortable for some reason. Just like a sixth sense. The UNr takes a look around the crowd, looking for something unusual, but his eyes find nothing. Maybe it was just his imagination.

Rigger bows her head slightly as Colonel speaks, looking towards a spot on the beach. Nothing of interest is there, it's just far easier to hide her expression when canting her head downwards.

Proteus Fox closes his eyes for the moment remembering the battle, picturing those in his mind that he knew. His eyes open again and the golden Fox looks out about the crowd looking for anyone he might know, but his size compared to most reploids impares this attempt and he simply returns his gaze to Colonel and begins to move closer to the front.

Tomahawk Man walks up behind Viktor and places a hand on his sholder. "It is a funeral for those who died here."

Bowie continues to listen in silence. There are times when words are inadequate. This is one of them.

Moonlight Kitsune swishes her tails slowly, and listens a bit, as she looks around still, keeping watch on the crowds.

Freeze Man blinks at Tomahawk. "Oooohhhh." He pauses for a few seconds. "Who died here?" He's of course asking Wave Lotus, since that's the person he started talking to.

Colonel seems to finally release all the emotion he's been holding since arriving, "In all great wars, there is light. That light, is the hope of a better day, when the smell of battle is not near, where people, reploids and humans alike, can sleep safe, knowing tomorrow will be unburdened by the feel... the stench of death." Sighing, he looks at the obelisk out in the water, "We are in a war now, a much more subtle war, a war where that light is constantly shining true, but where the shadows of dishonour and evil that kills without care lurk always nearby. That is why I and Repliforce exist, to fight those shadows, to push them away and keep those who are innocent safe. The world may not have realized all the times we were at war, but now they are. A very deadly one at that, the threat of extermination of innocents being held at bay only by sheer force of will of those who fight for the light..."

Looking back toward the crowd, "And like our human creators, we've gained the sense of hope and freedom and to know that no matter what; no force, no tyrant, no single evil, can stop the want... the /very need/ for freedom of soul, mind, and body. We will always be free, always. Because no dictator, no invader, can hold freedom at bay by force of arms and oppression. There is no greater need of the human and reploid psyche than the need... for freedom. The Robot Masters and Mavericks have learned this already, and they will be taught it again."

Cappella turns her head slightly to the side and gazes darkly towards Colonel. Perhaps somewhere in her cold heart she too could feel for those that died here. Or she might have if someone didn't falsely accuse her of being her. Grumbling softly the thief lets her hands stray, plucking lightly at the pockets of the unaware. Oh of course she has no need for anything such items, but it isn't the treasures that concerns her, it is the challenge of conducting her business amongst the Repliforce.

Strike Mongoose reaches over and touches Selene on the back of, and regards 'Victor' from last night with a bit of a frown. Not something to be concerned about yet, but something to keep an eye on... such a solemn occasion should have no unfortunate interuptsions, after all. Everyone who has fallen here deserves better than that.

That done, Strike lowers his head for a moment, remembering everything that happened here a week ago - Archer's battle against Punk and Quint, Bastion's duel with Enker, the entire desperate defense.. and other memories as well. The burning factory, X fighting against Godmachine, the Flemish States being shattered by the Enigma Cannon - all remembered, so that the sacrifices made could be honored.

Norman Cassidy has left.

Fusion Phoenix nods at Colonel's words. That is why he fights, not to kill the "enemy" but to prevent harm to the innocent. He holds no grudge against the Masters for their attack, but he will attack them to prevent them from doing somthing like this again.

Valiant Falcon arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Valiant Falcon has arrived.

Tomahawk Man nods twords the remains of Repliforce Island. "The Robot Masters struck Repliforce Island and wiped it off the map. Some Repliforcers, Reploid and Human, were still in there when it went."

Bastion has arrived.

Ballade smiles thinly at Colonel's words. The need for freedom... illusion. The Repliforce will learn that a sense of security is far more powerful. The Robot Masters offer stability, protection and to fill the basic desires of survival. Give the masses what they want, and they will simply hand over their freedoms. But this is not the place to refute these claims. This is a moment of peace, before the eternal struggle between soldiers begins again. Were it not for Colonel's dedication to his duty, Ballade might almost feel contempt.

Norman Cassidy has arrived.

Gale Sorcerer tries to concentrate on Colonel's speech again. He puts the shades in their average postion and crosses his arms. But he can't avoid feeling something's not quite right here. It's just the way you feel when you're about to leave your home and something makes you feel you've forgotten to pick up your keys. The UNr takes another look around.

Valiant Falcon is flying within the area, making a descent near the place. Valiant Falcon places the hood over his head briefly, then his optics are glimmering over at the sight.

Viktor's eyes widen as Tomahawk speaks. "Really?" He looks towards where the island used to be. "Holy crap! It /IS/ gone!" He continues to look wide-eyed at the big nothing where there should be Repliforce Island.

Phoebus keeps up his salute but he blinks. it's subtler? Depends on what the Subtle part of Subtle Colonel means, Phoebus supposes. On one hand, now is simpler. The enemy is dancing with a target on their heads. However, the tactics are gonna have to be much more detailed now. -Where- do we attack the enemy is no longer 'The small area where the enemy is' but rather 'The small location which will make it easier to reach more of the enemy or the location which will cut off supplies of one kind or another to the enemy'. Those kind of places. On one hand, this will give Phoebus lots of headaches. On the other hand, he'll have to do more than blow shiznit up and get headaches from figuring out what other things besides that he has to do.

Plasma Badger shifts his weight quietly and clasps his his hands behind his back loosely, legs spread ar roughly shoulder width apart for a Reploid of his size.. maybe a bit less on him because he's somewhat barrel-chested. He nods silently in agreement with Colonel's words and remains silent.

Bowie finds himself nodding at Colonel's words, though his expression is otherwise unreadable.

Fusion Phoenix looks over at 'Viktor' "Hush."

One former Repliforcer finally makes his way into the area, quietly of course. No one knows of Bastion's new affiliation, and for now he thinks it best to remain that way. Despite that, Bastion wears his SecDef Coat, minus the actual badge, his visor black as he looks out across where the island was. With that, a single tear runs down his face. Memories.

Proteus Fox bows his at Colonel's words as they strike a chord in Proteus' heart. Those who died, died for what they believed. They sacrificed them selves in the line of duty, they shall forever be remembered as heroes. A small comfort to those who were close to the ones that died that day.

With another deep breathe, the Colonel turns and salutes toward the waters. "Repliforce! Salute!" he yells. "To those who've fallen. Your fight will not go unremembered. We will fight, and we will win. Your memory serves to strengthen our resolve."

Quell Quetzalcoatlus swings around to regard the small murmuring of those to the rear, although she does manage to send a rather nasty scowl towards the general direction of the sound's source. Then, with a small, wistful sigh, she returns back, wings rustling slightly, as she keeps her position to the fore, what thoughts, memories that she may have not quite as plainly fathomed as those of others.

Stormbringer Selkie shifts her stance from the parade rest she was in to listen to the speech, snapping off a sharp, bittersweet salute to the uncounted dead lying under the waters. You will be missed, and remembered. The selkie will keep you in heart.

Fusion Phoenix salutes with the other Repliforcers, remembering all that was lost that night, and rembering that which was nearly lost, like the safe containment of his fusion reactor.

The optics are flickering a bit. Then, the Falcon murmurs a few words in Latin. After a moment, he brings both legs together. Even though he isn't a Repliforce, he offers a salute towards those who had died.

Phoebus keeps his arm up. It shows no sign of tiring. He mentally notes something and the rest of the squad salute as Colonel does but Phoebus has kept it up all this time. He swallows.

On cue, Slash Beast's enormous paw comes up in a sharp, strong salute, his eyes fixed on the memorial. He murmurs quietly, almost inaudibly, "Your deaths shall not pass in vain. I swear it."

Selene Chantrell shifts to the nearest thing to a salute she has, hat over 'heart', eyes shining brightly as she says a silent prayer for those who died... and those who live to continue on their work, til the final decision is made. Though there is no doubt in her heart where that end lies.

The snap to attention is instantaneous for Bastion as he steps up near Slash Beast and Quell. Old habits die hard it would seem. No words come from him, because his throat seems slightly tight.

Moonlight Kitsune snaps a salute, and although it is not something she does often, she does it in rememberance of those fallen. It is, after all, he duty.

Plasma Badger's stance quietly shifts to attention and his right hand swings up, taking a moment more to hold his hand correctly becuse the nerve connections are acting up a little too much today. He holds this posture as long as is appropriate fot the situation, expression somewhat unreadable, even for a large badger. Otherwise, he remains silent.

Ballade salutes in his own fashion, fist to heart, still smiling wryly. In his own heart, he vows that Repliforce will fight... and fall. Perhaps a few will realize that the true thing - the heart of the matter is the duty. Not to the ideal, but to the duty itself. After a moment he drops his fist, and takes his helmet in both hands, glancing down as he turns it over in his hands.

Proteus Fox snaps to full attention. Standing tall, the golden Fox salutes the Obelisk, a sharp perfect military salute.

Viktor watches half the crowd salute, and absently pulls a donut from his box, then sticks it in his mouth, where it hangs while he muches on it blissfully.

Gale Sorcerer shakes his head slowly. o O (This is a funeral, not one of your cases, you idiot). The agent, keeps listening to Colonel. Probably he has no one to salute, but he still salutes them mentally. Those who died there.

Quell Quetzalcoatlus stiffens at the clarion call, that which fuses her resolve into solid form. And with her motion comes the echo of so many others doing the same, thousands repeating the motion, giving voice to the honor and respect that each harbors within. It is in the moment when the resounding salute rises and swells into a thunderous accord, the echo returning a few seconds distance from bouncing off the massive, polished side of the monument that faces faction.

Bowie isn't military, but he salutes just the same. The uniforms they wore might have been different from the one he recently gave up, but their purposes were the same. Serve and protect.

Plucking a gold chain watch from a passerby, Cappella whistles softly the tune of "Where and the world is Carmen Sandiego" as she continues to make way through the crowd. Turning back towards the ceremony the thief gives but a sharp mock salute before continuing her wanderings.

Void Starfish is in there somewhere, away from the general assembly and out of the way. She salutes in triplicate, dropping her cloaking shroud and flickering into visibility..

Crystal Man arrives from the New York - Harbor.

Crystal Man has arrived.

Centaur Man arrives from the New York - Harbor.

Centaur Man has arrived.

Centaur Man trots into the area and looks about calmly.

Tomahawk Man salutes as well. He wasn't sure why, but he did so, anyway.

Not military, not police, not even a reploid. Certainly Rigger has no qualifications what so ever to salute those fallen. Yet, after a moment's hesitance, she does so as well. Now if she could just stop crying she'd feel so much better.

Stepping back to face the crowd, the Colonel's eyes narrow under the brim of his hat. "There are those of you here, who are not here for what everyone else is. There are those here for vengence and those here for mockery." And then, his optics lock, briefly, not long enough for anyone to follow, on Ballade then Cappella. "To those here for vengence. Think not of vengence but of using the anger that has been instilled in you, for the good of those near you, of those dear to you. Fight for freedom for freedom's sake, not for vengence sake. To those of you here for mockery or for whatever reason. Know this, that hatred or contempt, or whatever you feel, shall not fuel our fight. Our fight will one day bring the hatred, treachery, and malcontempt of those who've caused so much pain, to fall."

Slash Beast nods shortly in agreement. At the front of the crowd, he does not bother to look behind him to see who the Colonel refers to. It does not matter who they are, not now.

Fusion Phoenix studied history, and the story of Hitler taught him well the folly of hate. Such heights he achieved, only to be remembered only with hate. Fusion will never fight for hate.

Strike Mongoose had believed that all they had left was vengence - after all, the Masters had killed so many people, they had caused so much pain, that how could there be anything but revenge? Of course... that hadn't lasted very long, because two days after the base fell he had been given the privaledge of seeing the true reason that everyone should fight. That day when he had seen Commander risk his own life to save a single man, leaving himself open to face Bit and Byte's power for the sake of one person... that was why everyone should battle. To preserve life from those who might wish to take it. And that drained his cup of anger to the Masters - doubly so after he saw the Mavericks destroy the Flemish States.

Cappella's emerald eyes lock on the Colonel's as a thin smirk tugs on her lips. Man she wants that hat of his... Shaking her head slightly as if wiping the thought from her mind the thief taps the brim of her fedora before shifting back into the crowd.

Stormbringer Selkie holds her salute for an extra measure of minutes before dropping her hand to her side, her vision still caged, trained on Colonel and the shifting sea beyond him. Her tail twitches once, slightly, and she blinks as if to clear away tears--but moves no more than that.

Tomahawk Man ponders Colonel's words. Hatred and vengence were to things he was very well versed in. ...and look where it has gotten him...

Hate......Vengeance. Both the subtraits of Sin.... Valiant Falcon is one of those who does not like Sin. No, it isn't a Sin to depise Sin, but it is to act on things maliciously out of that anger. Valiant is listening in on Colonel, the eyes briefly turning over to the people who is aroumd. However, there are so many people around. No matter, they have no concern from him, for now.

Plasma Badger has resumed his previous 'at ease' posture quietly, waiting and watching, listening carefully to Colonel' swords and making sure that he remembers them well. There's something important happening here today that he wants to make sure he remembers for some time to come.

Gale Sorcerer blinks for a moment as he hears Colonel's words to concentrate on some professional thoughts, but some seconds after that he shakes his head slowly again, remembering where he is. The agent is here to pay respect, not for anything else.

Bastion turns his head slightly to regard those nearby and nods slightly toward Major Slash Beast and now Sergeant Major Quetzalcoatlus. Nothing said really, his own feelings of the fight on the 2nd are well controlled, but the memories of those lost, still has him.

Moonlight Kitsune nods to Colonel, as she looks around the crowd a bit, her ears flicking slowly, listening, tails swishing. She turns her attention to Colonel for a bit more, the pale 'sune knowing her duty, one she hopes to do.

Ballade meets that gaze calmly, pushing forwards as he settles his helmet on his head with a soft 'click' when it locks into place. "Mockery? I am not here to mock. I am here to pay respect to those who served for duty's sake, who believed in their fights. As do I." He hefts the package at his side, and pulls it open to toss a funary wreath at Colonel's feet.

"I will not mar this ceremony with conflict." His smile is thin again, as he turns and starts down the beach to the side of the memorial. "Take pride in your duty, for it is my duty to see that the hope of victory becomes ashes. The world will be at peace, yes. But not /your/ peace."

Hitler didn't fall because of hate. Hitler fell because he invaded Russia in the Winter and then decided to attack Stalingrad instead of taking something that might actually let him win even though he was invading Russia in the Winter. You know burnout? That's what took down Hitler, you see. He wasn't able to think clearly the day he decided to try and take Stalingrad. A little too impatient too. Didn't want to wait another year before attacking Russia.

Though one could say he made that mistake because he hated. Phoebus had long learned that you don't need hate to do blow stuff up or to plan effectively. It's just an emotion. He again wonders if others will have a chance to speak. And then Ballade does speak, confirming his suspicions in one way, but not the way he was thinking off. He sends off a text radio and sighs.

Phoebus sends a radio transmission.

Ballade receives a radio transmission from Phoebus.

Now here's something bizzare... Crystal Man is actually showing up *late* for something. Why? Well, probably because he didn't think it safe to actually come to the wake until he realized that some of his kin were actually here. After all, given the unfounded suspicion of him as of late, he can't afford to take any chances.

In any case, the mystic is in his armor, and quickly tries to find someplace to stand, hearing Colonel speak. The bit about not fighting for hatred, in particular, he appreciates, even if they do fight towards entirely different goals. Of course, he can't afford to express this...

...or can he? The crystal conjurer turns his head to regard Ballade with a note of surprise that he dared to speak up, then simply nods.

Ballade sends a radio transmission.

Phoebus receives a radio transmission from Ballade.

Phoebus sends a radio transmission to Ballade.

Ballade receives a radio transmission from Phoebus.

Quell Quetzalcoatlus's salute lingers, the avian looking horribly reluctant to drop the salute. As if finally feeling the gaze upon her, she twists her neck around, and gives a subdued nod towards Bastion, as well as to Slash Beast. The motion is one of restraint, of one whose inner feelings bear much remorse. she blinks her indigo optics quickly, and appears ready to join the ranks of those who are watering the land with their bitter, salt-stained grief.

Rigger shifts her gaze away from Colonel and the pillar where the island once stood at Ballade's brief speech. Staring at him quite openly, and with an almost emotionless expression, she simply shakes her head. That was a matter she refused to think too much on right now. It would only give her a further headache.

Viktor glances aside at the Masters that are springing up from the woodwork, and he looks absolutely terrified. He isn't gonna do anything, because if he does he'll get kicked out of the scene. ;P

Tomahawk Man sends a radio transmission.

Crystal Man receives a radio transmission from Tomahawk Man.

Plasma Badger is presently too far away to have caught anything Ballade might have said. You see, the badger is way towards the back and still recovering from a sonic attack a few days ago... At least.. he doesn't seem to have heard Ballade's declaration, because he hasn't moved an inch from his original position.

Fusion Phoenix looks over at Ballade, muttering under his breath to those around him. "It took some guts to say that here... But I still think we should be on our gaurd."

Crystal Man sends a radio transmission.

Tomahawk Man receives a radio transmission.

Centaur Man arrives as quietly as he can, despite the fact that his hooves make an infernal clomping, as he enters, he hears what is being said. Hatred is not something he usually feel in any form further than dislikeing, mostly towards enemies. In any case, listening in on this all, he notices Ballade making a scene, unsure of what his elite brother intends, but is a bit uncomfortable about it.

That glare, the glare of someone not scorned, but let down in a way, as Colonel for the moment let's Ballade's comment pass. The Colonel seems to ponder something. "Unlike a year ago, I will not ask others to speak. Today, we shall talk here, between friends and comrades, and share the memories collectively." Walking down off the platform, he stops at the edge of the last step, and turns away. His right hand coming up to his face for a moment, the only sign that his usually stoney emotions have cracked slightly, before turning back. Walking toward the crowd, it seems that's it for any major addresses and the like, now it's time to chat amongst ourselves of those who've fallen.

Proteus Fox's ears pin back as he lets out a low growl at Ballade. He's quite tempted to take a shot at the Master, but it would do nothing and only disrupt the services further.

Strike Mongoose twitches his ears - he heard every word that Ballade had said, but it's not worth starting anything here. And so he slowly makes his way through the crowd, watching as the Colonel makes his way down from the area where he was standing during his address.

Ballade has said his piece for the moment. He doesn't expect the Repliforce to listen... yet. He continues to move to the side, well aware of the hate he's attracting, finding it a touch ironic in the face of Colonel's words. Strolling slowly and smoothly, he seperates himself from the crowd, folding his arms and turning to regard the gathered people.

"Pity."

Gale Sorcerer sighs as Ballade makes his speech. Maybe that odd feeling was about him, but it really doesn't matter now. The UNr raises an eyebrow as he hears Colonel's last words. o O (Chat? Who said anything about chat?). These things always make him feel uncomfortable. He can't avoid feeling out of place.

Slash Beast stares at Ballade, his expression flat and unmoving. He says nothing; he would not trust himself to speak now. All of the Major's strength focuses on keeping himself in control. He is a reploid, not...a beast. He merely watches, his face drawn down in a glower.

Victor suddenly notices that there are a whole bunch of famous people here! He almost pulls out his pen and book, but decides not to, since it wouldn't be appropriate at the time.

Proteus Fox has reconnected.

"Pity."

Odd choice of words that, as it is all Fusion feels for many of his enemies. He says nothing, taking this moment to reflect.

Punk has left.

Crystal Man shakes his head sadly as he notes negative reactions on the parts of some Repliforcers, and moves to approach Ballade. He nods again at his superior's single word. "Indeed; it's a shame to see that some people's minds are so closed." . o O (Both within and beyond our family.) O o .

Proteus Fox has partially disconnected.

Stormbringer Selkie smiles, slightly, darkly, baring the slightest crescent of fangs, as Ballade speaks. As he faces the crowd, her smile widens to the slightest of feral grins before fading. Oathbreakers, all of you, she reflects, turning away from the smug Elite, ears twitching back. No hatred there, merely disgust. She begins to unwrap her package, the brown paper crinkling softly under her hands as she snips the wrapping twine around it neatly with her claws.

Bowie shakes his head. At least it doesn't seem like Ballade, or any of his siblings that may be lurking, are here to cause trouble. He mollifies himself with that fact as he looks around at the crowd around him. It doesn't matter whether the sun is shining or not. For him, today is distinctly gray.

Phoebus nods slowly. The spring of History is just that. A spring. Gone is the Vietnam War, the Civil War. Now it is World War II. Stalin, Wily, will die of old age: Locked up in his Base, hidden from all eyes. He had taken control of the press. Killed. Slaughtered. And Hitler? Or should we say Sigma? His blitzkrieg has succeeded. When the Combined Forces of the UN, the Hunters, the Repliforce all storm in to destroy him, he will slay himself because he'll see no other option. Maybe not, since History is a spring, but he will die nonetheless. This thought isn't driven by hate but simple guessing of the future. The Masters and the Mavericks will continue fighting each other soon enough once their Nazi-Soviet pact ends. Yeah, the link is clear and even Phoebus, Mister Rank 5 intelligence can see it. This is where Admiral was sent on his way when he was slain and today the Island he died protecting has left to finally meet him once more.

Phoebus smiles. All good things come to an end. Just now something better will take its place. And when that ends? Better. That ends? Better. Till the one day there is no need for improvement.

Centaur Man looks at Ballade, but says nothing, feeling at a loss of words.

Ballade has broken no oaths. How could he? He has sworn no oaths to protect these lives. In fact, his oaths and duties put him against the Repliforce. To call him Oathbreaker is a misconception. He /is/ loyalty and duty. He shrugs slightly at Crystal Man. "An odd way of speaking of it. Eventually their spirit will break, and perhaps they will come to realize their mistakes."

Bass arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Bass has arrived.

Placing her hands within the folds of her trenchcoat Cappella shakes her head slowly before muttering softly to herself. Her words seem almost to be a soft chant that she hums quietly. "Oh the stench of death that still pollutes the air that we breathe. It lingers here with sadness, forcing our eyes shut with tears. Such a pity to watch the structure crumble beneath their own feet and know what it once stood for. If they only knew, perhaps they could have prevented all this? No, for no one knows when the end my appear before them."

Valiant Falcon has reconnected.

Bass changes into his Forte armor.

Colonel walks up to Commmander Phoebus, as he turns his head slowly to regard Ballade. He then looks to those around, noting the few who appear to Robot Masters in disguise, who've reacted positively to Ballade. Before he finally addresses everyone else, "Ignore them. They do not exist. Hatred does not exist here today. Today, we remember."

Victor doesn't appear to be a Robot Master. He just appears to be clueless. Viktor also doesn't know who these Masters are, other than having seen them on the TV. Really. oO(Shouldn't the Repliforce be arresting those Masters or something?)Oo

After Colonel makes his speak and heads over to the public, the Falcon takes a lift towards the air. The Holy Knight is taking off in mid-air. He hates pushing people out of the way. He could try the excuse me approach, but he isn't the one to idle.

After finding a spot near Colonel, the Falcon makes his way to descend towards the ground. The wings are slowly wraps around itself. The cloak's hood is softly removed while approaching the Colonel. "...I offer my consoldence.. Though, even those who lost their lives are now with the Lord..." It would be easier if Hymn was around. Oh well.

"It is not that which I speak of, brother," Crystal Man replies to Ballade. "I simply mean that it seems that there are those here who apparently cannot accept how similar we are in the end, even though we fight for separate causes... those who simply cannot truly respect."

Fusion Phoenix takes this moment to reflect on all that was lost. People and things. That which was tangable and that which was not. But also about that which might be built from the ruins.

Gale Sorcerer sighs again from his shadowy corner. The UNr stands there totally quiet, moving his optics behind the shades around the area, looking at the people in there.

Two people walk past each other, creating a brief parting of the crowd near the Elite Master present. From the parting steps a man in an ebony business suit, a rather strange shade to be wearing. And yet, considering the nature of this gathering, it's perhaps best to be wearing just this color. Just a businessman of some degree, here from the east to pay his respects. Yet while a man of authority states that this is not a time for hate, twin red eyes smoulder with the emotion. Bass is rare to contain himself, yet he seems to be doing just that now, as he steps up towards the front to stare about him. That gaze eventually comes to rest, going past Crystal Man and others nearby, upon Ballade himself.

Moonlight Kitsune turns, to look at those who seem to be a bit of a disruption, but otherwise follows her order to ignore them... Well, she will try, even if ignoring them means she keeps one ear listening to them, just so she can make sure they don't do anything else.

Ballade shrugs slowly. "Perhaps. I accept the similarities of thought... as far as they go. But that will not incline me to mercy." He looks about calmly, meeting hate filled glares with calm eyes, his smile vanished into that preternatural calm. And then he meets Bass' gaze, and for a moment, the calm falters. "Mmm. He's here."

Job has been watching this whole time from the back of the crowd saying nothing. What is there that he can say, after all if the masters did not exist he would likely not nor would any Reploids, nor would the Mavericks exist. Anyhow he forces those thoughts from his mind and keeps his head lowered in a gesture of respect.

Strike Mongoose considers making his way through the crowd to where the Colonel is standing... but decides against it. He hasn't been with the 'force all that long, and he can't say that he knew many of the fallen terribly well. So he remains where he stands, with those he has come to know and respect through that battle and all that followed.

There are oaths...and there are oaths. The highest laws Stormbringer had ever believed in--the sanctity of life, the inherent respect all should have for the human spirit, the principle of egalitarian life and free agency--Ballade and all Wily's Robot Masters had broken those, methodically, with gross disrespect for what they meant. Therein lies the disgust--though she may respect individuals for their honor, their loyalty, their humor, their spirituality...the Robot Masters remain an organization of oathbreakers.

Quietly, Stormbringer finishes unwrapping her package, pulling out--a brazier. A simple brass brazier, and a tripod, which she unfolds reverently and sets the bowl atop. Out next is a bag of tinder and kindling, the former set in the base of the bowl, the latter tented around it. Next sticks of incense--nothing obnoxious, nor musky, merely delicate floral--followed by a printed paper copy of her enlistment orders. A picture of Templar, a picture of Anthem, a handful of dried flowers, and a clipping of the Selkie's own blond mane.

She shoos a few stray crowdmembers away from the brazier, taking a step back from the bowl and circling around it to face the obelisk. This is for you. For all of you, she mouths the words, then extends a hand over the brazier, a spark arcing from her outstretched fingers into the tinder, igniting it. Fire flashes up, consuming the offerings. Take them, and know that I will hold this oath above others...

Bowie glances around, looking for a familiar face. No one in particular, just anyone he might know. The flash of fire grabs his attention, and he begins to wander in that direction.

Phoebus, however, nods slowly, finally dropping his salute, "Who doesn't exist?", he says almost wryly. He pauses and then smirks ever so slightly, "However, we're here to remember, as you said...So let's do some remembering.", he looks to Falcon, "No need.", he pauses and says, a little stiltedly, "I don't suppose I'm the only one who remembers when during a mission with Admiral I had to climb on his back, did I? First mission I ever had.", he glances to the burning and thinks about bringing up how Anthem and Templar aren't dead, but decides against it. He'll just get the joy of seeing her face when she turns up alive.

Rigger begins to turn in the crowd, scanning the faces that are gathered. Some she knows, some she's seen in passing. Unlike those that begin their own little memorials, or do as Colonel suggested by speaking of those fallen, she seems content for the moment to simply watch them all. At least for a breif time before she's forced to look away once more. A hand is drawn over her face to rid it of the damp trickles of liquid that have managed somehow to creep down her cheeks.

Plasma Badger says nothing.. nad he doesn't move from his position. Truth be told, he's never really had the pleasure (?) of meeting Anthem or any of the other missing soldiers. Like Strike, he's one of the new guys, just kinda.. adrift.. in all of this mess.

Cappella removes a gloved hand from her coat pocket and once more strikes, removing the billfold of another passer by. The movement seems so swift that one could easily have missed such an act.

Viktor heads away from the crowd, chatting to himself whilst eating donuts.

Centaur Man is a bit shocked by the sudden sounds of flames, but maintains composure, unfortunately, that does mean making a few loud clomping noises by accident.

The Force Leader stares back at Ballade for a moment, before his eyes narrow into that well-known glare. His head lulls to the side, view going askew as an expression lightens the hard grooves of his face. Bass smiles, a smile filled with bemusement for his surroundings, before he raises a hand to shoulder height, a single finger raised in the direction of the skies above. He submerges himself back into the crowd, moving away from the Elite and his entourage.+o-hun And Freeze and Tomohawk.

Bastion isn't held by the orders of the Colonel or any other Repliforcer any longer. Across Bastion's visor forms a red grid, and a single red dot forms on Ballade's head. No, it doesn't appear as if Bastion's got a weapon. He simply wishes to see the reaction once noted.

Proteus Fox stands in his chosen place, remembering those who have fallen. "You will never be forgotten, we will keep you in our hearts always." He speaks more to himself than anyone else.

Toilet Duck arrives from the New York - Harbor.

Toilet Duck has arrived.

Crystal Man follows Ballade's gaze once he sees Bass, frowning slightly behind his mask. . o O (Dear spirits, I pray he doesn't ruin things...) O o . Still, though, he continues to converse with the violet one. "Nor do I espect you to show any, brother," he responds, "nor expect any from the Repliforce when we do battle." . o O (Not even Hymn.) O o . "But I still believe in respect."

Toilet Duck sidles into the back of the crowd. Now THIS has the potential to be interesting. "Yo, Job," he says, slipping in next to his old buddy. "It's been a while."

Ballade simply follows the direction Bass points, before dropping his own gaze. His own systems register that he's been 'painted' by a targetting system, turning his head to gaze back along the line of the laser.

Flare Feline arrives from the New York - Harbor.

Flare Feline has arrived.

Moving about through the crowd, he heads back toward the edge of it all, spotting the man in the ebony suit and of course following Ballade's every movement. With a quiet quirk of his brow he tries to find the source of the laser. Ah, of course. Quietly contemplating something Colonel turns his gaze back to Ballade, "I would suggest, you take your leave, as well as the other Masters. I will no longer hold back my troops. You are disrupting a peaceful service with your rather inappropriate words and lack of remorse or respect."

Gale Sorcerer stars walking a bit towards the beach. He's kinda tired os staying in the corner, maybe he'll feel better on the beach. It'll be a good chance to take a look at the obelisk too.

Stormbringer Selkie's eyes have gone to narrow emerald slits, light from her improvised funeral pyre glittering in them. Her tail twitches, once, slowly as she watches the flames and listens to that around her. Ah. Malcontention, already.

Fusion Phoenix moves from the back of the crowd, over to the beach, so he also can get a good look at the obelisk.

Quell Quetzalcoatlus, at this point, stares agog at Bastion as he targets, despite the, well, provocation. She glances towards Slash Beast, as if looking at him for any hint of what to do.

Ballade simply follows the direction Bass points, before dropping his own gaze. His own systems register that he's been 'painted' by a targetting system, turning his head to gaze back along the line of the laser. As Colonel approaches, Ballade steps slightly to the side, turning to put the larger Reploid between himself and Bastion.

"As you wish. But you are mistaken that I lack respect. I just do not feel the same... flavor of respect as yourself." He glances at the obliesk. "They died well." Shrugging, he turns and starts to stroll slowly away, arms folded behind his back. "Come, Crystal Man. No sense wasting effort."

Centaur Man hears colonel asking him to leave. Truely, he' not being a disturbance, and would perfer if he could stay. Maybe if he doesnt act up he wont have to be forced to leave. The hooved master decides to behave himself.

Bowie continues to watch Stormbringer and her ceremony quietly, not wanting to interrupt. He's not one for words anyway, and right now even less so. Ceremony, however, he understands.

Strike Mongoose sighs and pulls out his staff, leaning on it for a moment as he watches all of the chaos beginning to make its way into what is supposed to be a horribly solemn occasion. With his white and grey fur, it makes him look almost as old as he is supposed to be. This was certainly not the way that this was supposed to go...

Colonel sends a radio transmission.

Ballade receives a radio transmission from Colonel.

Valiant Falcon nods towards Phoebus. "...Very well." Then, Valiant Falcon is making his way around the place. Mingle....No. Mingle was not his strong point. "The Pope wishes you all look..and all of our prayers are to you." Then, Valiant Falcon is his body is producing wings to spread open. After the wings makes its way to spread apart, the Falcon is taking off to the air.

Selene Chantrell touches Strike's arm, shaking her head and speaking up softly for the first time since the beginning of the ceremony, "...let them stay or go as they choose, so long as they don't cause trouble... not today."

Flare Feline has been... here all along... yes.. that's it... he's ICly been here. But OOCly his stupid player forgot all about this. Bad Spoony! Bad! So he's just.... in the crowd, somewhere... yes...

Slash Beast closes his eyes as he follows the stream of conversation around him. Not now, not now. Would that the Masters had never shown. A slope of wet glass, tumbling into violence. He turns to the crowd, looking over the people. As yet, he seems reluctant to make any action, choosing instead to let Colonel handle it. Should Colonel need his assistance, he will be there.

Bastion sends a radio transmission.

Ballade receives a radio transmission from Bastion.

Phoebus nods slowly but does nothing else besides ignore Ballade and the others like Colonel said but isn't doing. Oh well, someone has to acknowledge them.

Ballade sends a radio transmission.

Colonel receives a radio transmission.

Strike Mongoose shakes his head slowly. "I don't intend to start anything... I just feel old for once, Sel..." he says quietly. "We look for a moment of peace and it is never there - someone always feels the need to disturb it." First last night with the Masters appearing, and now at the ceremony... and the Repliforce was a group that could resist such disruptions...

Ballade sends a radio transmission.

Bastion receives a radio transmission.

Plasma Badger's gaze has shifted quietly to simply follow the Colonel as he's noved. He hasn't otherwised moved from his position or altered his posture any. His expression is still an emotionless mask that betrays little of what might be on his mind presently. There's not a lot he can say to Strike, really. The words just don't want to come.

Gale Sorcerer also approaches the small ceremony on the beach. There's familiar people in there, but it isn't a good moment for chat. He really doesn't feel it's the good moment. He just approaches quietly.

Crystal Man sighs sadly, folding his hands before him, as Colonel speaks to Ballade. . o O (He doesn't understand at all...) O o . As the Violet Elite bids him to leave with him, the mystic looks up and opens his mouth to speak... but then the actual order comes over radio. The crystal conjurer hangs his head, then starts to walk away, slowly.

And strangely, those rich blue optics look like they're watering... but since when can Robot Masters shed tears?

Toilet Duck snerks at the Robot Masters. What idiots, coming back to the scene of the crime.

Tomahawk Man does nothing to give himself away. No use letting a working desguise become useless by letting on to your alegences.

Tugging at the floppy brim of her red fedora, Cappella peers quietly. Her focus lays within the mass majority of the crowd until her darken emerald eyes narrow. "Shall they even learn?" She hisses quietly. "They will bury even more of their own men by the dozen. Each one will lay at their feet until the survivors cry out in pain. But it is as it should be for nothing any of us can change what has been done in the past." Giving her head once last shake, the fedora shifts on her head. Yet her words are quieted once more something catches her eyes. Moving in silently towards her newest victim, Cappella approaches with caution before letting her hand draw near to the pocket of the man dressed in the ebony suit.

Ballade has disconnected.

Crystal Man sends a radio transmission.

Colonel receives a radio transmission from Crystal Man.

Stormbringer Selkie catches a sight out of the corner of her half-lidded eyes--and draws back from her little flame, leaving it to burn down in isolation as she goes to attend to something slightly more pressing: The living. One hand darts out, lightly, as she taps Crystal Man on the shoulder--just a gentle touch, meant to draw attention, not to startle. "Take comfort in their peace, friend," she mutters, her words for the Robot Master alone. Oathbreakers, all of you, but some for ideals might be above that label, individually...

Victor talks to 'himself', and continues eating donuts. Luckily, he's found a bench. Now he can rest his tired feet. Ahhhh...

The hand is cut off at the path, as Bass takes a grip on Cappella's wrist. Within the blink of an eye, he draws the girl close, giving the outwards appearance of it just being two close friends sharing the moment, sharing their grief. Hidden in the folds of both sets of clothing, he's twisting that wrist for all it's worth, just short of breaking it. Red eyes stare into a set of average, for after all -- Cappella is nothing special. A smirk sinks into Bass' face as he speaks, soft and fierce for the thief's ears. "Considering the bounty on your pretty little head, girl, you're /certainly/ putting your little routine up on high stakes.."

Colonel sends a radio transmission.

Crystal Man receives a radio transmission.

The brazier isn't left in isolation, exactly. Bowie is still standing near it, gazing at the flickering flame as his thoughts lead elsewhere.

Fusion Phoenix stands up from the beach, launching himself into the air. He sends off a quick message before winging his way to the teleporters.

Proteus Fox simply continues to pay his respects, umm yeah, thats it.

Gale Sorcerer takes a look at the flame as he walks quietly. Usually, he wouldn't even bother to approach to a fire, but today he considers it might be interesting. He stops just near it, saying no words. He doesn't want to bother anyone.

Crystal Man simply offers a nod to Stormbringer Selkie as he continues on his way... his heart sinking somewhat as Colonel just proves that Ballade was right about any attempt to speak being wasted effort. The crystal conjurer might fight for Wily, but that doesn't mean what Colonel seems to think. Crystal Man might kill... but he's not a killer.

There's a difference.

A difference too many Repliforcers apparently refuse to see... and thus, the master of jewels is soon absent.

Tomahawk Man walks up to the flame, and contemplates what has transpired. He slowly walks away, making sure to take a route other than the ones his breatherin had taken.

Almost out of his sight, Colonel just happens to catch the person in the ebony suit grab Cappella out of the corner of his eye, just barely. Eyes narrowing he walks over, the better part of honour and civility grabbing hold of him. "Sir, do be so kind to release her. Even if she is a criminal, today I stated that no one would raise a hand on anyone. Do not make me break that statement."

Selene Chantrell looks on for a moment longer, before quietly setting her hat back on her head and making her way out of the crowd, light touches to the arms of her companions and a soft smile for both of them telling them she's going.

Selene Chantrell enters the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Crystal Man enters the New York - Manhattan Island.

Crystal Man has left.

Centaur Man continues to stand there, then he approaches the flame, and deciding not to be hated today goes towards the flame, to pay his respects, then he turns around and is decides to hurry out, although that makes loud horse galloping sounds

Centaur Man enters the New York - Manhattan Island.

Centaur Man has left.

Quell Quetzalcoatlus fidgets, wings rustling, as she utters under her breath, "You have got to be kidding. This is a load of slag, if I've ever seen it." Agitated, she leaves the front columns of the gathering, sliding past Slash Beast and Bastion, drawing her closer to the Masters. However, they seem to have taken it uon themselves to vacate, at least some of them, and she slows her forward pace. She does, however, keep a wary watch on the group.

Stormbringer Selkie returns, light-footed, to her brazier--with a nod to Bowie. By now, her scant offering has burned down to pure white ash--ash she does not even wait to cool, but that she scoops a handful of it from the bowl and head toward the waters.

Cappella gasps softly as she is caught in the act and pulled forward with great force. Each movement remains painful on her wrists as she tries to break the hold that her capture has. Yet her struggles are quickly cut off as she gazes into Bass' cold and dark eyes. Letting her eyes widen from the surprise the thief's lips tremble slightly as she listens to Bass' voice. Yet the thief easily pulls herself together letting her stun expression vanish once more. Turning her head to the side to make sure no one else can hear Cappie mutters quietly. "The bounty means nothing to me but rather a small barrier. A challenge if you may. Let them come for what they seek they will not find. What is known isn't always in exsistanc..." Once more the thief remains quiet, looking rather shocked and stunned. The thief hasn't just been caught once but rather twice. Grumbling quietly the thief thinks quick on her feet if she leaves things as is this whole place will go do with her in the middle of it all. Leaning forward Cappie presses her lips against her capturer...if anything for her to stun him enough so she can get outta here.

Viktor watches all the people angst at eachother while eating his donuts! How many are in that box?

Bowie finally blinks out of his own thoughts. Both Mongoose and Selkie receive a nod in greeting. Not wanting to break his silence just yet, he watches as she scoops the ash from the brazier and moves towards the sea.

Plasma Badger watches as those he came to this gathering begin to melt away.. and he ponders what it is he is going to actually do about the whole situation. Should he move closer in the event the remainng Masters get rowdy.. or should he depart? Torn by indecision for a moment he comes up with a compromise ... he remains where he is for a while longer.

Tomahawk Man enters the New York - Manhattan Island.

Tomahawk Man has left.

Viktor then spies Cappella and Bass doing... something. His eyes widen, and he reaches into his donut box once more, but this time pulls out, a holocam. He ever-so-subtly takes a picture, then returns the camera to his donut box.

Valiant Falcon enters the New York - Harbor.

Valiant Falcon has left.

Gale Sorcerer takes a look at his watch. It's already quite late. He probably should be going back now. The UNr takes his shades and puts them into a pocket in the jacket, and starts walking away from there.

Strike Mongoose pulls out a small patch of grass, one of his old favorites from his day back as a mountain ranger - a small sprig from a tree that had been planted to honor all of those who had fallen in the course of duty - both human and reploid alike - and that everyone took a piece from. Something to keep close to their heart, and to remember all of those who had come before them. It seemed fitting that they should in part join a memorial to other heroes who had worked so long to protect everyone. Breaking the twig in half, he tosses part of it into the flames and watches as the sprig of pine is consumed. Not all of his old life gone, but a part of it... Strike sighs, and turns around to walk towards the back, offering Colonel a nod as he does so.

Bass is caught off guard. First Colonel's appearance, demanding he unhand the girl, almost immediately followed by Cappella planting her lips onto his own. He stands there stunned as one may expect, yet his eyes are at the corner of their slits, watching the Repliforce's Executive Officer. After a moment, he puts an arm around Cappella, almost as if to dip her down and continue the movement. Instead, he pulls away whilst keeping the arm on Cappella's waist, hurriedly dragging her away from Colonel. Not so much as a word is said to the hat-wearing Colonel, as Bass makes good his exit. Grr, come on, Cappella.

Flare Feline is still there... yes. His player seems to be caught up on what's going on. Expected Master troubles, and Cappella and Bass committing Incest. Dandy. Colonel's interaction with them catches his eye. He's a bit away in the crowd, but he can move in if neccessary. Hopefully it won't be needed. So until then, he continues to do what everyone else is, grieve, comtemplate, mingle, rinse and repeat.

Skyblade Eagle arrives from the New York - Manhattan Island.

Skyblade Eagle has arrived.

Strike Mongoose makes his way back out of the crowd, a soft sigh on his lips. "Shall we head back to the base, Plasma?" he asks quietly.

Plasma Badger nods quietly. "Time to go..." he rumbles as he finally starts to move. Slowly. His tired aft starts to make its way towards the teleporter center off to the north of Wall Street so he can sit down for a while and let his body knit in peace.

Plasma Badger enters the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Plasma Badger has left.

Strike Mongoose walks along beside Plasma - and old pair of mountain rangers, heading home.

Stormbringer Selkie pauses at the waves, taking her handful of white ash--and tosses it out over the water, a breeze springing up as she does to sprinkle the ashes over the waves. And as she does, she lifts up her voice--and begins to sing, in a sweet, high coloratura that could wrench tears from dry eyes, if she so desired.

o/~ God be with you 'til we meet again,

As Bass is stunned, Cappie slowly tries to pull away from his grasp. She is free! Err...nope. The thief doesn't move quick enough as she once more is pulled back to Bass's side. Gulping softly the thief seems almost stunned as well as she is pulled closer to him trying desperately to figure out where she went wrong. Blinking several times and deciding not to struggle she is pulled away from the scene, or rather dragged away.

Bowie watches and listens in respectful silence as Selkie continues through the motions of her ceremony. He may not understand it, entirely, but for some reason it brings him some measure of comfort.

Flare Feline now leaves, since his player came late, he never really participated anyway. Mwaha.

Flare Feline goes home.

Flare Feline has left.

Viktor keeps eating donuts. He's too busy to notice everyone's leaving.

Stormbringer Selkie continues to sing, softly, gently, until the song is done--the notes of the last chorus hanging hauntingly over the waves, to keep the spirits of the dead company. Egyptians send food and servants into the afterlife with their dead; Selkies sent song.

Proteus Fox enters the New York - Manhattan Island.

Proteus Fox has left.

Hurricane Hawk arrives from the New York - Eastern Downtown.

Hurricane Hawk has arrived.

Moonlight Kitsune closes her eyes, and turns, to slowly make her way from the scene... she's taken up enough time for now, with this... She has a few other things to take care of.

An odd thought passes through Bowie's mind as he listens to Selkie sing. Where do AI spirits go when they die? Not that there's much doubt in his mind about their existance. Still, it'd be nice if all spirits arrived at the same destination. There's a few people he'd like to meet again, when his time comes.

Skyblade Eagle goes home.

Skyblade Eagle has left.

(Back to the barn.)

You enter the Hunter HQ - Command Level.

Hunter HQ - Command Level

This deck once served as the command center of the Fort Sam Houston, and remains so today, restored and refit with the best in modern technology. Built in the shape of a broad semicircle, the command center's curved wall is dominated by sweeping observation windows- thick panels of reinforced glass ensuring durability while providing a panoramic and crystal-clear view of the surrounding tropical lagoon. An observation walk lining the inside of the windows offers an unobstructed approach to the view.

The room's focus, however, is the slightly raised platform in the middle, lined with consoles and computer banks, equipment to accomodate any need the Hunters may have. A matching host of monitors, displays and holo-projectors depend from the ceiling on heavy metal braces, within easy reach and view.

Ether Skunk [Armor] [MH]

Seismic's Magic 8-Ball!

Obvious exits:

West <W> leads to Hunter HQ - Teleporter Room.

North <N> leads to Hunter HQ - Meeting Room.

South <S> leads to Hunter HQ - War Room.

East <E> leads to Hunter HQ - Lift Station.

Bowie wanders in, his expression wavering somewhere between pensive and melancholy.

Ether Skunk looks up from where she lounges in her usual seat, sifting through a few papers. She quirks a brow at Bowie's expression, before looking back down to whatever it is she has. "Yo, Bowie."

Bowie says "Howdy," but it lacks the usual sincerity. He makes his way across the room to the coffeepot and pours himself a mug. A normal sized mug, that is.

Ether Skunk looks up again, watching quietly. She quirks a brow, sitting up at last and leaning back in her seat. "Who died?"

Bowie hunts around for some sugar, temporarily forgetting that almost everyone else prefers theirs straight. "A whole mess a people, Miss Ether."

Ether Skunk likes sugar. "A litte to the left. Behind the green and red mugs," she murmurs, gesturing lazily. Her attention turns back towards the TV. "Bummed over the Flemish states, huh?"

Bowie extracts the sugar jar from behind the mugs and pours a liberal amount into his coffee. "Flemish States, Repliforce Island, El Paso..."

Ether Skunk stretches her arms over her head, squeezing her eyes shut for a moment as she takex a moment to relax. "It's pre' messy, yup." SHe sighs quietly. "We don' have a very fun job, nope."

Bowie comes back over to one of the chairs and slumps into it. "Tell me 'bout it." He quaffs some of the coffee, regardless of its temperature. "Feels like Ah've done nothin but bury people lately."

Ether Skunk sags in her seat, propping her head up in one hand, elbow against its arm. "What'd you do before you joined us?" she asks, curiously enough.

Bowie sets the mug on the console next to him. "Texas Ranger," he replies.

Ether Skunk nods quietly, glancing at the mug briefly, before looking out the window, swiveling in her seat. "Well, that explains the accent," she murmurs. "Do you miss it?"

Bowie shrugs and admits, "A bit. Though really, Ah haven't seen much diffrence 'tween that an this, 'xept the Hunters have a few less regs."

Ether Skunk chuckles quietly, folding her hands behind her head. "Heh. You chased down Mavericks when you were back in Texas?" she asks, light-hearted.

Bowie nods, tilting back his hat to its usual position, instead of down low like it has been. "Mavericks, Masters, other criminal types, a course. Whoever was disturbin the peace."

Ether Skunk nods lazily, glancing back... she settles down, becore glancing back at Bowie again. "Did you know anybody in El Paso?"

<Global News Network> "This is reporter Dia Blodi here with GNN, reporting LIVE from Pittsburgh's very own Global News Network Building! I know, I'm shocked we have one too! We've just picked up a pretty interesting sight on our roof cameras. Here's the footage, brought to you LIVE!.. no wait, this is delayed." The view changes, showing the SS Dreadskull flying through the city, before several dark objects drop from its underbelly. "It looks like they're going to try and hit the steel holding center and foundry! We'll keep you up to date, right after this wonderful product from AppleSoft." (Contact Bass is interested.)

Bowie nods an affirmative, the smile he was trying to muster failing him. "Yeah...Ah wusn't stationed thare, but we wus all in Company E. The Rangers stationed in El Paso, Ah mean."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Jet Stingray transmits, "So.... Um, who's handling this? While a few of our 'forcers are still hurt, I can go myself with maybe one other 'forcer if needed... You think you Hunters can handle it?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lieutenant Skyblade Eagle transmits, "I'm going out."

[Radio: (C) Hunter] Ether Skunk transmits, "Anybody on this? I'm still feelin' kinda woozy from gettin' baked on Tuesday..."

[Radio: (C) Hunter] Shield transmits, "I fear I shall prove useless as well. I do not know if I could force myself to even reach the battlefield if I tried."

Ether Skunk nods quietly, looking back to the window. "I can see how that'd get to you, then..." She sighs softly, reaching up to rub her temple. "I guess we're jus' gonna have to get used to it for now," she murmurs. "The war, that is. I think. We can always do our hardest to end it, though... someday, I think we will."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Ether Skunk transmits, "Uh.. uh... I don't think we have many folks available, Mr. Jet sir..."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Jet Stingray transmits, "Roger that. We have a few more going than expected... I'll do the keeping you informed thing if you need it."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Zero transmits, "Yip."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Fencer Naiad transmits, "OOC: Beware of spikes. They are sharp and painful. You will be killed instantly. Do not step on the spikes, it is bad."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Zero transmits, "OOC: Toss Gear on Spikes instead. Got it."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lt. Ring Redwing transmits, "OOC: Ooh, shiny spiikeey I want to hug them!"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Fencer Naiad transmits, "OOC: Can I have Alia's job? Telling people the obvious?"

Bowie sighs and slumps again. "Ah hope so. That's pat a why Ah signed up. Ah wanted t'do somethang t'protect people."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lt. Ring Redwing OOCly gives Fencer the ex-Alia seal of approval. :)

[Radio: (E) Joint] Fencer Naiad transmits, "OOC: Beware of Bass. He is very strong. By assimilating your parts he will gain new weapons. All robots have weaknesses. He will try to find the weapons that work best."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Void Starfish transmits, "OOC: Beware of OOC radios. By listening to them, the enemy will crack our channels, and claim they found them on non-OOC radios."

Ether Skunk smiles a bit, nodding slowly. "S'good. We need more folks happy to protect other folks." She glances up at the monitors, switching things until she can get a decent news feed of the growing bruhaha in Pittsburgh. "I don' think I can remember it NOT being like this, though. S'weird. I'm too young to be used to anything BUT this kinda mess."

<O-Hunter> Sharp Stick Zero says, "...should I cut him apart for flinching?"

(New BB message (15/88) posted to 'OOC Discussion' by Plasma Badger: Random Chatter...)

[Radio: (E) Joint] Commander Phoebus transmits, "OOC: It is virtually impossible to crack radios with the new system. And seeing as we're all mature people ect, they will not do that."

Bowie chuckles sadly. "This mess has been goin on fer as long as Ah can remember." His eyes get drawn to the news feed, though whether any of it's actually registering is another matter. "Course, it ain't been this bad fer a long while, and Ah missed out on the war in 2204..."

Ether Skunk rubs her head quietly, shrugging. AFter a moment, she gathers up the papers she was leafing through and stands, before wandering towards the lift. "Well, maybe it'll get nice and peaceful, someday," she murmurs. "Though it kinda sounds like that'd be boring."

Bowie picks up his mug and slugs some more coffee. "That's whut Ah'm hopin fer, Miss Ether."

Ether Skunk sighs softly, nodding. "I think that's the kind of boredom I could live with, yup." She steps onto the lift and rides off.

Ether Skunk enters the Hunter HQ - Lift Station.

Ether Skunk has left.

[Radio: (E) Joint] Rigger transmits, "Repliforce! I suggest one of your medical personel retreive Gearworks Fox from Light Labs immediately."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Selene Chantrell transmits, "...I guess that would be me. Can you just ship him COD... to the Mavericks?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] RF Sergeant Plasma Badger transmits, "Dare I ask?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Zero transmits, "..wh-wh-wha.."

[Radio: (E) Joint] RF Lieutenant Spiral Pegasus transmits, "... Am I missing something?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lieutenant Skyblade Eagle transmits, "What happened?"

[Radio: (C) Hunter] Shield transmits, "Rigger, how did he come to need medical assistance, while in the medbay?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Jet Stingray sighs. "Just to escort him out... Or something else?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Bowie transmits, "Someun givin ya trouble, Miss Rigger?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lifesaver transmits, "...Do note: I am not going to repair him."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lieutenant Skyblade Eagle transmits, "... Repair him? Why?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Rigger transmits, "..It's a long story. He tried to wake Zero from his near-coma state and things didn't go well. He freaked out and pulled a gun."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Repliforce Sergeant Strike Mongoose transmits, "*long pause, and then muffled laughter* What did he do, start trying to pick in Zero's hea... really now."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Selene Chantrell transmits, "...I dislike where this is heading. How many pieces am I going to have to put together?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Rigger transmits, "Two vertical slices."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Commander Phoebus transmits, "...I'll head over there and pick up Gearworks... Or is there someone saying they'll go which I missed?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Selene Chantrell transmits, "...Ow. I don't know if I CAN put that back together... his neural net must be in halves... *confused tone* Can you survive like that?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lifesaver transmits, "What? Zero didn't put him into Humpty Dumpty type pieces. Huh. Guess he didn't go berserk this time."

[Radio: (E) Joint] RF Sergeant Plasma Badger transmits, "...I'll go fetch a box..."

(New BB message (2/12) posted to 'Announcements' by Timer Review Object: Up for review...)

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lieutenant Skyblade Eagle transmits, "Wait, is this the same Gearworks that crashed the Cow?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Repliforce Sergeant Strike Mongoose transmits, "That it is."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lifesaver transmits, "Yes."

[Radio: (E) Joint] RF Sergeant Plasma Badger transmits, "yes... that's him."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lieutenant Skyblade Eagle transmits, "Can't we just leave him like that?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Rigger transmits, "It didn't go that far up."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Commander Phoebus transmits, "No, Skyblade. We can't. I'll be right there, okay?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Lifesaver transmits, "He's lucky."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Proteus Fox transmits, "The heck did he do?"

[Radio: (E) Joint] Jet Stingray transmits, "I'll be heading over to Light Labs then to pick him up then... I apologize for any trouble he might have accidently caused. I'll be coming to the front door soon if that is all right with you Hunters."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Rigger transmits, "Perfectly fine. I'm doing on-site work currently. Probably not a good idea to keep him around here though."

[Radio: (E) Joint] Commander Phoebus transmits, "I agree. I'm sorry I told him to stay. Hold up, Jet. I'll come with you."
