Runaway Cat Tue Jun 17 Vile
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<When the video feed begins, a hand and its body are blocking the camera. But when the new recruit finishes setting the device, he steps away, revealing the brig of Berlin's Military District and within it that stalwart figure, Vile. Behind him a pair of junior paramedics takes an unconscious and badly burned feline to the facility's meager medical supplies. As this is a brig, they are not very gentle, securing the prisoner with an array of straps and cords. Getting past his now char black exterior, the prisoner can be identified as the one and only, Chill Snowcat. In addition to all the regular restraints for an injured prisoner, a strange collar is fitted around the feline's neck. It is quite similar to the explosives collars used on the Maverick cyborgs.>
"The former Hunter, Chill Snowcat, is now our prisoner. That is correct, he has left his comrades, though not on his own accord. Indeed, he failed his kind for the last time and has been spurned from their ranks, this being due, perhaps, to the psychological damage I may or may not of inflicted upon him some time ago. Now, Chill Snowcat is a useful tool to me. This will provide an adequate first test for our enemies, whose determination has seemed to erode in these past months. The though has also crossed my mind, that perhaps our prisoner is better off dead. But, I cannot help but think that perhaps it is Chill Snowcat's good fortune that has seen him abandoned by his comrades. If we play upon this abandonment, perhaps he may find the gateway to enlightenment. If not, he will be a useful source of information. I have already ordered Sting Chameleon and Blast Hornet to begin interrogating our visitor. You are all welcome to pay him a visit and ensure that he is...comfortable. Still, I do have plans for the cat, try to leave him in at least one piece."

Military District - MavBerlin
What was once the housing for military force of Berlin has now been converted into a makeshift Maverick military training facility. It is within the walls of these buildings that new recruits are put through their paces, seeing if they are up to snuff. Traffic here is much lower then the rest of the city, mainly due to the military nature. Patrols in this area are few, seeing as it is populated with enough Maverick already. The Berlin force is now non-existent, as it was eliminated during the takeover.

Chill Snowcat lays on the floor of his cell in the medical portion of the detention center. The feline looks miserable, terribly burnt and obviously in a lot of pain. They seem to be taking their sweet time repairing the cat.

Chill Snowcat
Lenya Light....usually known as Chill Snowcat has undergone a transformation of sorts. He is a feline reploid that stalks upon four feet. His body is a soft violet at the joints with silver-gray fur being the dominant feature. Spots and rosettes cover most of his frame, dark gray in some areas darkening to black. Pure white settles below his nose and across his chest. A clear violet visor covers his large silver eyes. Whiskers twitch with curiosity. On his shoulders are twin mounted cannon weapons with a large opening on each side in front. These are colored deep violet also and appear to be able to shoot an assortment of weapons. The word 'RESCUE' with a white cross are stenciled in reflective white on the shoulder weapons. His tail is a strange mix of what appears to be fur and a blaster type end on the tip. Sharp retractable claws decorate his large front and hind paws.

Dr. Doppler strolls into Containment Center 4, repair bay AA-28. Otherwise known as the place in which they stored the former Hunter until he could be more properly handled. He pauses just inside the doorway, partly in shadow, partly in light. "Chill Snowcat. What a pleasant surprise."
Chill Snowcat shakes and tries to sit up before collapsing back down. He hisses in pain and trembles.
Chill Snowcat says, "D-d-doctor dopp-ppler I....I presume?"
"We've met, you know," Doppler chides gently. "Or did Vile give you that thorough a pummeling?" He walks closer to Chill, his features still obscured by the gloom of the dimly lit repair bay. "Tsk...yes, apparently he did." Such is his assessment as he notes the extent of the reploid's injuries.
Chill Snowcat lowers his head his head and just shakes. "W-wanna go home....."
"And where is home?" Doppler asks, almost rhetorically.
Chill Snowcat lays there and stares ahead, "With the hunters......but...but they let me go.....they let me go and Vile attacked me....And now I'm here....alone...."
Dr. Doppler shakes his head sadly. "< And your world has been turned upside down, hm?>" he says, lapsing into German. Whether Chill understands doesn't seem to bother him. He takes a medical scanner from one of the many pockets in his labcoat and switches it on. "And so you have no home."
Chill Snowcat whispers, "They said they'd never leave me...that I still had a home....Still had family." He tries to push himself to his feet. Staggering toward Doppler before falling to the ground again. "Not alone again....."
Dr. Doppler takes out a medical scanner and scans Chill Snowcat.

"Anyone who would willingly abandon you is hardly a family," Dr. Doppler points out. He looks over the readings of Chill's injuries, then returns the scanner to his pocket. "Vile did give you a good thrashing, didn't he?" he mutters more to himself than to his captive audience. Back to the topic at hand. "Abandonment is something I see too often. Such a shame."
"Yet, here you are, alone and miserable," Doppler states, his tone taking one the quality of a stern father.
Chill Snowcat tries to curl up, shaking a bit in fear and pain. "Don't hurt me.....please don't hurt me...." He's got a lot of pain to think about.
Dr. Doppler notes, "I believe that Vile has already done enough to you, Chill Snowcat. I have no reason to hurt you further." He reaches into another pocket, this time producing a mini-toolkit, the kind most engineers and scientists carry with them for minor repairs. "In fact, I could help you....though I doubt that you would trust me."
Chill Snowcat looks up at Doppler, "I...I am afraid of you....I have been told what you can do. And I am afraid.....Everything is scary here..." The poor cat looks miserable.
"And what do 'they' say I can do?" Doppler asks, raising a bushy eyebrow in curiosity.
Chill Snowcat frowns, "Make...make a reploid evil.....infect them with that virus....."
Dr. Doppler does not seem overly surprised by Chill's accusation. "At least the rumors are consistent." His arms rest at his sides, the mini-toolkit clutched in his left hand. "The world needs a reason to explain why their placid machine slaves chose to rise up against their masters. Better to explain it away as a virus than simple outrage and hatred, hm?"
Vile has connected.
Chill Snowcat nods his head a little and curls up again as more pain writhes through his frame. Seems Vile's attack had long lasting pain effects.
Cyclops arrives from the Perimeter West - MavBerlin.
Cyclops has arrived.
[Radio: (D) Public] Bass chuckles. "Criminal mastermind, now?"
[Radio: (D) Public] Bolero transmits, "It's a generic term. Rather like cultist and terrorist."
[Radio: (D) Public] Rigger transmits, "In other words, someone bought them a thesaurus."
[Radio: (D) Public] Guts Man transmits, "Vile's no mastermind, that's why he's got Sigma, to do the thinking for him."
[Radio: (D) Public] Guts Man transmits, "Ancient Chinese proverb says, 'All one-eyed robots are less human in appearance and therefore inherently evil.'"
[Radio: (D) Public] Bass transmits, "I endorse this proverb."
[Radio: (D) Public] Guts Man transmits, "Vile is inherently evil and thus must be destroyed."
[Radio: (D) Public] Valor transmits, "For once Guts Man, I agree with you."
[Radio: (D) Public] Snake Man transmits, "He hasss no sssenssse of ssstyle either."
[Radio: (D) Public] Guts Man transmits, "And he sucks."

Proceeded to babysit a rampaging Blast Hornet in Torontreal. Nothing of worth accomplished. Protoman took her apart. Self-detonated upon deactivation. Parts are in the Berlin medical facility. I suggest re-education in wasting Military resources for worthless rampages. It wasn't even a sufficient terror attack.

[Radio: (A) Mav-Chat] Dr. Doppler stifles a sigh. "Place Blast...or whatever remains of her...on the counter next to Scribe Robin."
[Radio: (A) Mav-Chat] Vile transmits, "I will handle this one. Blast Hornet and I have...unfinished business."
[Radio: (A) Mav-Chat] Dr. Doppler transmits, "You will leave her core operational, I presume."
[Radio: (A) Mav-Chat] Vile transmits, "Affirmative. Blast Hornet is merely taking part in a more...in depth...class of mine."
Dr. Doppler observes the snowcat with a curious mix of disdain and pity. "You needn't suffer like that, unless you feel some need to continue on in pain."
Chill Snowcat shakes his head, "I....I can't think straight....everything hurts...."
It is at this point that Vile enters into the brig in which he left his prey. Before he appears in the entranceway, his slow, methodical footsteps echo eerily from the hallway. As they grow ever closer, his long shadow is cast through the door. When he arrives, the Maverick general does not seem shocked to find his captive in the company of Dr. Doppler. Silently, he bows his head in greeting.
Dr. Doppler hears Vile's approach, and so gives the Maverick general a polite nod in greeting. However, the bulk of his attention remains fixed upon the prisoner. "Then allow me to relieve some of your pain."
Chill Snowcat reaches over to his other leg and starts to tap in buttons on a console that appears. Apparently the feline is trying to cut off the pain himself if he can, "You....you would promise not to hurt me?"
At this prospect of aid, Vile has no objection. He assumes a wide stance at the head of Chill Snowcat's table, his helmet angling down to gaze at the restrained feline. "I will be completely honest with you, Chill Snowcat," the Maverick general says, breaking his silence, "I would listen to the good doctor." Indeed, that desolate voice puts no effort into intimidation, though it can still be described as such as it remains cold and unforgiving. Still, fear is not its primary goal at this point. "You are of great value to me, dead or alive," Vile admits, "I will take what I can get, but the doctor...he can save you from me."
Dr. Doppler says simply, "I do not believe in the unnecessary suffering of reploid-kind." He moves to the corner of the table, his gaze never straying from Chill. Unlike Vile, the doctor's expression is more placid, though hardly friendly. "Surely you must have some faith or respect for me, or else why would you have laid flowers on my coffin?"
Chill Snowcat shakes, "My sis....my sis would not abandon me....my sis....." Claws dig into the table and he raises his head again, "Rose....white rose....It was only right to lay it....If you were dead. You still helped our race be born. I don't wanna be a traitor....I've failed all other ways....but it hurts so much."
"You are hardly a traitor, Chill Snowcat," says Doppler as he opens up the mini-toolkit. Provided that he is permitted, he moves to lower the settings on Chill's primary pain receptors. Not a true repair of his systems, but it should alleviate the worst of the pain. "If anything, I was the traitor, for having allowed those bastards to steal my life's work, implementing a half-formed program without thought or care. Is it any wonder that few reploids have ever achieved their full potential?" His question is rhetorical, expecting no answer.
Vile has reconnected.
Slowly, a shadow descends over Chill Snowcat, as his tormentor, the merciless general, looms overhead. He does not relent, this time talking with a rasping whisper, "I know it hurts and the doctor will take it all away. He -wants- to save you." Yet still, in spite of his chilling voice, Vile still puts stock in honesty, albeit brutal honesty, "Do you really want to know what grand army came to your rescue, Chill Snowcat? It consisted of some Maverick Hunter and my former colleague, Valor. That is all. You've failed them? They have failed you, and for the last time if you only stand up for the first time ever." Reaching out to the captive with his index finger, Vile dangerously traces the feline's neck. Oh, to be touched by the devil, "I cannot speak for myself, but even the Mavericks are capable of mercy. Why suffer? Why try and rationalize the Hunters as friends? You are lying to yourself."
Chill Snowcat frowns and shivers as he's touched. But he allows Doppler to remove the pain. The large cat just lies there. As Vile comes closer, the cat shuts his eyes.
Dr. Doppler steps away once he completes the minor adjustment, tucking the minitool back into his pocket. He gives Vile what could be a cool stare, or perhaps a warning. Between them, it is a gaze that expresses 'don't go too far'. The doctor steps out of the repair bay, though chances are he has not strayed too far.
