TO: Maverick Strategic Command

FR: Tactical Raccoon, Commander, Intelligence Division

SU: Intel Division Update

Berlin's counterintelligence systems are fully online. We have added additional sensors and rearranged our nets to compensate for alterations in the city's structure, as well as to address outstanding issues with the system discovered during the siege.

External intelligence gathering systems are returning to normal operations. While the Sigma Virus is restricting Reploid movements in UN areas, this works for us in some circumstances for obvious reasons.

Work in France is ongoing. Extensive infrastructure damage and looting is slowing the restoration of normal intelligence gathering.

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "*incoming transmission - Doppler's official frequency*"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile's frequency beeps. Transmission accepted.

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "General."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "Viceroy."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Is France ours?"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "It is. I am making preparations to drive the Masters back into Africa."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Good."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "What is your true reason for speaking with me, doctor?"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Your opinion of the toys the UN has made."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "They are human on the inside. Any power armor that was mass produced so quickly will not be an effective equalizer."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Then teach...them the error of their ways."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "I fully intend to. The weapons scavanged from the Fortress III wreckage are being emplaced defensively."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Good."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "And how are you coping with the virus, dear doctor? Infected yet?"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: Dr. Doppler snorts. "And how long have you known?"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "I first noticed during the battle of Berlin. I did not confirm my suspicions until Sigma admitted to me that there was a virus, soon thereafter."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Even my own son keeps secrets from me."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "To be perfectly fair to our lord and savior, you were quite insane. What was it? A burst blood vessel in your brain?"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "So they tell me."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "I suppose you are only human. Your brain is, at least."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "A weakness that I will overcome."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "How, doctor? Do as Raffinato did? Make yourself an android copy to carry on?"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Why the sudden interest, hm? Dis-appointed that I am not dead yet?"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "Or simply musing that your time will come."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "You should not...start dancing on my grave yet."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "I am a reploid, Doppler. I have to cope with my superiority /somehow./"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Then prove it by destroying the UN."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "I will let their army impale itself on my defenses. I have plans for their other cards."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "I would rather the fight be taken to them."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "There is still the matter of mobilization, doctor. Our numbers are dramatically decreased from the campaign against us."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "~o/ Ooooooooohohohoho! The Queeeeeeeeen...of Geermanaayyayayayayayayaaaaaay.." ~o/"

[Radio: (D) Public] Berkana transmits, "Stop that."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Why? Your the Queen of Germany, too?"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Do we know if the factories in Italy, in Austria, are in-tact?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Demanding as ever, I see."

[Radio: (D) Public] Berkana transmits, "No, just someone that doesn't wish listen to you prattle on off key."

[Radio: (D) Public] Javelin Whitetail mutters. "Ye're telling *me*..."

[Radio: (D) Public] Geetz transmits, "I do believe that the one they call...Sigma, is the Queen of Germany at this time."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Nonono."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Sigma is the King of Germany."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Vile is the Queen."

[Radio: (D) Public] Geetz fingersnaps. "Too right, Sir."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "And Doppler is the Bouffon."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "They still stand. Most likely decomissioned or turned against us."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass whistles an old Bon Jovi song.

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Then retake them."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "In time, doctor. In time."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "Albert's children are that much trouble?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Sigma is Emperor, danke."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Fine then."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Sigma is the Head Honcho of Germany."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "You seem to not be listening. We were backed into the city of Berlin and nearly exterminated. Our forces have not recovered yet."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Vile is the Head Honchoness of Germany."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: Dr. Doppler lapses into German. "< Then resume our old practices. Raid. Take what we need from our enemies. >"

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission: Vile says, "We are doing so. Consider the fact that I am more knowledgeable on the subject of war than you."

[Radio] Tightbeam radio transmission to Vile: You say, "< Then I expect to read better reports. > ...*click*..."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "So, Bass.. there don't happen to be any disabling codes on those Devils.. are there?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "What's it worth to you?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Prismatic Spider transmits, "So... The Robot Masters have a Judas already. Will they also have a Faust?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Dust always was a Juda. He's our enemy number #1, remember?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "I have my Happy Days tapes."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "That would im-imply that they read literature."

[Radio: (D) Public] Prismatic Spider transmits, "Some of them do."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "This is true."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "...You alright, Doppler?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "I do."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "I miss my hidebound copy of `Sense and Sensibility'."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Skull Man transmits, "... damnit. Knew I left my good books behind."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "...Didn't realize you liked Jane Austen."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Yes, Sewa. And you?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Ice Man transmits, "Does a copy of The Art of War count?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "I enjoy the vocabulary."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man grunts. "Damn it.. why does trying to kill everyone always end up in my path being blocked.."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "I'm alright, just uh.. you seem...something. Maybe Bass knows the vocabulary. heh."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Because you sucks."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "It has been a difficult year."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "Alright! I'll give you my chocolate collection! Cut is really being an ass here!"

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Skull Man transmits, "... Cut Man. An ass?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "Your possessions are meaningless to me."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Skull Man muses, 'And in strnge aeons even Death may die...'

[Radio: (D) Public] Gemini Man transmits, "Traitors."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Blah blah blah greater cause blah blah blah death consumes us all blah blah blah omghumansrepresses me blah blah blah."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "How about Cut Man's face?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Durandal transmits, "Sucks to watch a friend go Maverick, Gemini. But it's not their fault."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "I /DONT/ have a face, Dust Man."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "Shhh!"

[Radio: (D) Public] Gemini Man transmits, "You know what happens to traitors."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "Well, okay..just take deep breaths."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "God damn it. Even when you are an enemy you are no use to me."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "Oh-ho."

[Radio: (D) Public] Durandal transmits, "They're your BROTHERS, Gemini! Show some compassion!"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "At least...we have a greater goal than stealing half a ton of hamburger patties...for a beach party."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Hey, I'll let you know that Hamburger patties have great hidden energy potential."

[Radio: (D) Public] Gemini Man transmits, "Those who betray the doctor have their code replaced."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "Your problem, Dust Man, is this. You are a mewling, cloying coward."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "All of your other failures radiate outward from that single flaw."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "I can't drag everyone to hell with me if I'm DEAD!"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "I think that has already taken place, Gemini Man."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa mumbles, "Good intentions."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Anyway. Dust, slow and painfull, or fast and incredibly painful death?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Perhaps Gemini instead means to imply that they will have their code restored... after it is completely removed."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "Do I get a vote?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Yes, yes, I know the phrase. At least I am in good company, hm?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Gemini Man transmits, "Skull Man and Dust Man ARE cowards." "They gave in." "They aren't even fighting."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Sure."

[Radio: (D) Public] Geetz transmits, "Its funny. I find not a difference between the traitorous Bass and the original."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "I do."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "Mmm, /so original/. oh-em-gee."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "Ass."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "I don't want to be free of the virus.. it gives me the will.."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "His clairity of purpose is now overlaid with... something else."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Yeah, the will to be Sigma's b(?$"/."

[Radio: (D) Public] Viral Bass transmits, "As usual, Dust Man, you miss the /point/. The plague is *weakness*. The plague must --"

[Radio: (D) Public] Geetz transmits, "Hold your tongue, construct. I'm not trying to insult you, I was making a bloody observation."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "Seems that way."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "I'll show you weakness!"

[Radio: (D) Public] Geetz transmits, "Perhaps folks are so used to petty insults that they perceive them when they are not there."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "So you called him construct, huh."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Well, /we ARE/ constructs, kid."

[Radio: (D) Public] Bass speaks through heavy distortion and a soft hiss of static. "cru-cru-cruccc burning burn b-bb-bbb-b-b-bb my mind is my enemy --"

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Unless you've been born from anoter robot in some freakish manner."

[Radio: (D) Public] Geetz transmits, "Just as I am a human. Again, this is observation, not disrespect."

[Radio: (D) Public] Bass' signal fades off the network in a soft hiss of static.

[Radio: (D) Public] Gemini Man transmits, "....At least Bass is still fighting."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Yeah. I knew he would not give up."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Have you ever known him to stop?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "No, that's the point, old man."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "Yeah, but it's still..."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Rude?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "yeah."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "...As I predicted."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "What did you see in the Karma?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Karma? This has nothing to do with Karma, only observation."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Even better."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Every time Bass has ever been reprogrammed... it has failed."

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "And Mr. Virus is no different."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "I expect this to be no different."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Would it be the same for Zero, I wonder?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Cut Man transmits, "Zero has the thong power now. He'll survive."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Protoman as well."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "I don't actually have enough data about Zero to make a prediction. Was he ever infected with the original Maverick virus, Doctor?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Jonathan Moriarty transmits, "Here I thought it was simply that those people are too damned stubborn to know when they are beaten."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "So basically, all the celebrities can fight this off?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Jonathan Moriarty transmits, "It's the way Hollywood works, kid."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "We made the attempt, yes. However, the code was not accepted. He lacked the right prototcols."

[Radio: (D) Public] Gemini Man transmits, "Well. We won't let the damn UN tell us who does and who doesn't have a soul, we guess."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "Well what I mean is, it sounds like all the people with some sort of resillience, by your expectations, are the 'hotshots' in the war. Bass, Zero, Protoman. Probably Rock too, I bet you're thinking. The virus doesn't work so well on them."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Rock... I cannot say. Unlike the others, he hasn't been subjected to reprogramming attempts that he's later fought off."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "He may very well be vulnerable."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "I rebuilt Zero. I have some....some ex-perience with him."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "And you believe he is likely to be resistant to this new strain?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "He is not living under Sigma's roof, if that is any sign."

[Radio: (D) Public] Jonathan Moriarty transmits, "Strain? I thought it was entirely dissimilar from the maverick virus."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "It manifests similar symptoms. I consider it a... mutation."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "It is. However, they may still resist any other changes to their code."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "It is different, I mean."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "I admit that I have been... unable to study it. I will have to avail myself of other's findings, should I ever leave this prison."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "Well, what do Bass and Zero have in common then? Besides fighting off reprogramming attempts, since that's probalby a symptom rather than why they're resiliant."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Wily construction."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "As Dr. Xiang says."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "That's not enough. Skull Man and Dust Man have Wily Construction, they don't seem to be fighting it off."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Given that Doctor Wily was involved in the recent improvement of the cure, I suspect that his considerable expertise in Android development is a factor. Of course, sometimes his work is... sloppy."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "But both Bass and Zero were to be masterpieces."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Wily and Zero also have free will, as far as I can measure. Unlike the others."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Bass and Zero, Doctor?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Yes. Bass."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "Okay, so they are masterpieces. What set them apart from the other robot masters? It can't be their construction and ability to kick butt, this is a neural thing, so what about their programming makes them better than the average Wily android."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "OOC Talk abbout typo. Yeesh."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Does he really? Odd, given his singularity of purpose, I would expect him not to exhibit free will. But then, you have had the opportunity to examine him, so I will take your word for it."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "If Doctor Doppler is correct, Sewa, Wily's programming combined with the lack of normal Android restraints may be one of the keys."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Which would also lend more support to my hypothesis that Protoman is immune."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "I am sure something will be figured out."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "I find it... interesting, Doctor that you apparently dislike this most recent Virus."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "If that's the case, any 'free' android should be just as immune, but are they actually androids?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "I don't know. Ask Doctor Wily."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man gracks as he is overcome with jello. "I will kill him...." Staaaatic.

[Radio: (D) Public] Gemini Man transmits, "How 'Pee See' of you to pretend to care, Dr. Doppler."

[Radio: (D) Public] Gemini Man transmits, "It must be excellent for your recruiting."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "I'm asking Doppler, he's worked on Zero, so he should know what he is. Being un-reprogrammable is a reploid trait, not an android one."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "I want only what is best for my children. As any father should."

[Radio: (D) Public] Gemini Man transmits, "Skull and Dust aren't your children, so see that they're killed."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man bursts into laughter at Doppler commit.. Hey.. you can overcome unconsciousness when it's THAT funny..

[Radio: (D) Public] Dust Man transmits, "(Wow, Doppler's Comment.)"

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Zero is neither reploid or android. His codebase is...shall we say...unique."

[Radio: (D) Public] Prismatic Spider transmits, "He is very special."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "So he's a hybrid. And if Bass is too, that's the programming similarity."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "Should I be able to get a scan of him...without risk of losing a limb...I will let you know, Sewa."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "It is good to hear your voice, Priem. You are well?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa says brightly, "But even so, if you think about it, it just makes sense that way."

[Radio: (D) Public] Prismatic Spider transmits, "Yes, I'm well. Your General decided to not take my head as well as my limbs."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "Brains are best in the chest."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Not always."

[Radio: (D) Public] Investigator! Jazz transmits, "Wait, what?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Prismatic Spider transmits, "It was a gamble that I lost in the end. Ah, well."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "On some designs, there is insufficient space in the chest, and without the skull, the brain is often subjected to shocks and impacts that the cranial cavity protects against."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Additionally, most power supplies must go in the chest, and in some cyborg models, this implies a level of heat or other radiation that it's better to distance the brain from."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "I think she meant in reploids, Doctor."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Ah. In some designs, the argument remains."

[Radio: (D) Public] Investigator! Jazz tries to be helpful, "My brains aren't in my chest. At least I don't think they are. I never really checked."

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "Pffh, any up to date power distribution system would fix that unless you're like an inch high. It's more protected in the chest, and people don't think to go for it."

[Radio: (D) Public] Investigator! Jazz transmits, "What would you put in the head, then?"

[Radio: (D) Public] Jonathan Moriarty transmits, "Another brain."

[Radio: (D) Public] Jonathan Moriarty transmits, "Redundancy."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Doppler transmits, "As interesting at this conversation is...I have work to do. Guten Abend."

[Radio: (D) Public] Jonathan Moriarty transmits, "g So when the body explodes, the head can pop off, sprout legs and scramble away."

[Radio: (D) Public] Investigator! Jazz squeals, "So that's how Guts Man survived!"

[Radio: (D) Public] Sewa transmits, "You can put tons of stuff in the head."

[Radio: (D) Public] Dr. Nathan Xiang transmits, "Actually, Sewa, the chest is not less likely to be a target in a combat environment. In truth, unless you're dealing with a sniper situation, the majority of hits will be to the torso."
